It is with a heavy heart and many tears I am writing this..

My beautiful girl was put to sleep at the vets today after a lump first appeared on her 6 days ago, she had the best care in the world returning to the vets 4 times all together, She was suppose to go in today for xrays to see if it was a tumour or break I was fully prepared to get her leg amputated - I loved her so much money wasn't a factor.

I found another lump on her this morning which has DEFINITELY appeared overnight, this one was small and hard further up in her body... I mentioned it when I dropped her in the vets and they said they'd tell the vet before the xrays..

Well I had a call the vet had found the first large lump she had tried poking it with a needle - definitely not an abcess and then she found the 2nd lump I was talking about, she then also found a third. She asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the xrays to find out what these were but she was sure it was tumours I asked her how sure, she said 99.9 per cent sure, if she had said anything less then that I would have gone for xrays.. I knew in my heart it was a tumour when I found the lump this morning...

I decided to let my beautiful girl go the bridge at the capable hands of the vet so she would suffer no more, it was growing so quickly and she was still so happy I want to remember her that way and didn't want to prolong her suffering. I prepared myself last night said goobye with hours of cuddling, kisses and photos. She had baby food and treats and as she had a toy-ban I sneakily snuck her sandbath back in... I think deep down I knew...

Sookie gave me so many happy memories she was a beautiful girl loved by all, she was always first at the cage whenever you walked in a room just nosing what was going on, she's still been doing it since she was poorly --- i will miss her so much and never ever forgot her, she is free from pain and I hope she knows I let her go because I love her xxx

I am so very sorry Ellie :( In her short life she lived a lifetime of love. It is the greatest gift of all to let them fly free before it starts to hurt. It is also a great sacrifice when we want to keep them to ourselves. You did her proud. Love is truly letting go.
Play well at the bridge Sookie xx

You did the most selfless and kind thing you could for her. So sorry you had to though, it's never nice to say goodbye. I hope she's off flirting with some of the HC boys -- I am sure Chewbacca would like to meet her :) xx
