As I happened to have all of these three cages, the typical tank style cages, I thought I would share a pic of them all together(don't worry I don't usually have them stacked on top of each other) as it can be useful to be able to see how they size up, especially the ZZ1 and ZZ2, as the ZZ2 is just so much bigger!

Wow I had no idea the zoozone 2 was that much bigger! Thanks for this, very informative, you can only tell so much from measurements.

That's really useful! I'm thinking of buying a zz1 or 2 (got 2 russian dwarfies)
Which would you recommend? Baring in mind the cost, don't want one that's gonna be a waste of space really!

Just thought I'd link to Gizmodo's cage comparisons too, so that you can compare more cages: http://www.hamstercentral.com/community/housing/17332-cage-comparison-thread.html (Imac bingo, mini duna, duna multy, zz1)

StarlightSerenity also made a really good comparison which would add to this helpful comparison, but I can't find it... :/

I really like the zz1, I wouldn't have my syrian in any smaller now he is in the ZZ2 as he seems so much happier, but I really do like the zoozone1, I can imagine it would be pretty good for a pair of dwarves. :)

I like the look of the ZZ1. What are the dimensions? I have the Mini Duna (which looks smaller in this pic than it is!) :D I found the MD good for a baby Syrian for the first few weeks, especially as it's escape proof for little ones! :D

Well this re-confirms our decision to skip the ZZ1 as a duna upgrade :p
Not that we needed more assurances - Whizz's reaction to her new ZZ2 confirmed all we ever needed to know :)

This is even more clear than the other comparison I found of the ZZ1 and ZZ2 because seeing them on top of each other shows it much better than with one infront of the other (especially when one is on the floor and the other higher up on something else).

I can't find the thread either lol >.< Found one of the pictures though, I'm sure I have one with more cages on it somewhere.

Hope this is helpful :)

Ooh thanks that illustration really helps. I currently have a mini duna each for my boys and have considerd upgrading. It's good to know that the zz2 is about twice the size.

I like the bottom two, ZZ1 & ZZ2 for permenant housing. The ZZ2 for a syrian or a pair/trio of dwarf hamsters and the ZZ1 for a pair or a single dwarf hamster. :) It just proves that extra space (once accessories are added) gives a much better habitat and enrichment. I would love a ZZ2 for my wee chinese girl, but she`s already in a Gabber Rex (so similar in size to the ZZ1) which I`m happy with really. Wouldn`t refuse a ZZ2 if one came up though!

For someone who is completely clueless (like me!) this is brilliant!

Seeing the different cages makes it much easier too - thankyou :)
