Mishka is only 26g!

We weighed Mishka last night and he is only 26g! We believe he may be about 5 months old

He seems fit and well but just small

I don't know a huge amount about winter white weights and 26g may be absolutely normal for a non-breeder ww. Souffle and I both got our winter whites from the same dwarf show breeder - it may well be that show ww's are generally a lot heavier than those from petshops/rescues (as is the case with Syrians) Spud's Mum's ww is only slightly heavier than Mishka.

As Holly says he may just be a small hammy. As long as he seems fit and well I would not worry. He may put on some weight if you supplement his diet with some linseed, millet, soya, chckpeas etc. Dwarfies as small as this seem to do better on the smaller seeds as some of the big bits in harry are too large for them. Try crushing the bidcuits to make them more managable.

You can even try supplementing with porridge or rice pudding with puppy milk too.
We worry so much about our tiny Ice (29g) but to be honest, whatever we do she seems to stay the same, she doesn't seem unhealthy, is active and happy! We didn't realise how small she was until we went to hamster shows and saw some of the dwarf show hamsters (which were over twice the size of her!!) pet shop hamsters tend to be smaller.

She is just a slim girl, maybe Mishka is just the same. :)
