Miles passed away

Miles passed away a month ago, she was 1 week short of living 18 months with me. She died at almost 20 months old.

I am thinking of getting a new hamster, but I need to know how to clean and sanitize the cage. when miles died, she acted completely normal, her body temperature suddenly dropped. she stopped eating and drinking and about an hour or 2 later seemed to have a heart attack and died.

It does sound as if it was very quick and probably old age causing a stroke or heart failure. A good clean by fully immersing the cage in a bath of disinfectant then rinsing well should make it reusable. I would get new water bottle, house, potty and any wooden or cardboard toys should be thrown away.
