Basically if you are entering the main show, you bench your hamster into the right classes and the judge will judge each class and mark it with points.
In the pet section you take your pet in a suitable carrier and they are judged on tameness and condition.

There is usually cages and toys to buy, and always a selection of hamsters whether they be rescues that are donation, or leftover stock from breeders' current litters. It is best to go along and talk to other breeders there if you are set on breeding who can give you a lot of advice and if necessary point you in the right direction for breeding stock.

If you look on any of the club sites you can find a section on showing which will eplain everything involved. It is very easy and I am sure you would enjoy a visit. There is also a list of shows so you can locate your nearest one.
