Indy's forever memorial

I will post his written memorial and his resting place when i feel able.

Small quick background to Indy, i got him when i was very ill with my crohn's and practically bedbound. Since the day i got him he would sit on my bed, still or my tummy but most often my shoulder. Id lie back propped up with pillows and he'd either watch tv or fall asleep.

This past week i keep looking at my right shoulder only he isn't there.

I have never been so certain but i want to get a small hammy paw tattooed on my right shoulder so whenever i glance over ill see him and be reminded of the strength and comfort he gave me.

I can't find any line drawings of a hammy paw however, if anyone has one i'd be greatful.

Also wondering now if i should get a small flower next to it. a lotus flower signifies a struggle yet coming though it (it grows out of mud yet is still beautiful) or i wondered a for get me not?

i didn't want anything bigger in total than a 50p piece, you lot have been like a family to me, wanted some of your ideas and thoughts :)

What a lovely idea, as you know I got a pawprint when Binky died so I know it's nice to feel like they are always there.

You could search for a hamster paw silohuette on Google?

Yeh ive tried, i want a realistic one, i found a rat one, i may have to draw it. want it exact, might have to egt bear to print for me lol im not sure it needs a flower, was just an idea :)

They always say that we've got angels on our shoulders, and I really feel that's true for you Nat. Even though he's not here in person he really is just there beside you encouraging you through the tough times and sending calming vibes.

I'm not sure how you'd incorporate a flower into it, unless you were to wind something around it?

I'm not a big fan of tattoos but I've always like the idea of something really simple like the outline of a heart (coz I'm a soppy romantic). I think you getting a paw print there will be so very special, the thought brings a tear to my eye tbh. That you can touch it when you long to be close to him and look to him for support.

If you tell a tattoo artist what you want they'll draw it out for you anyway and they much prefer tattooing something where both you and them have worked on it.

I'll warn you, a shoulder tattoo is going to hurt a lot. It's close to the bone which is more painful. Mum's got pawprints on her back and shoulders, one for every cat she's owned so I think it's a very sweet idea.

Thats such a nice idea :) I think the simpler the better , maybe you could put angel wings on the paw, or would that look strange x

That's a lovely idea and tribute to your special relationship with Indy. It sounds like he's been there for you when you were feeling poorly, and you for him in return. I think there are a couple of people here who are illustrators or artists, maybe they could help draw something with the paw and flower together? I would help but I can't draw for toffee.

I think that the line image of the hamster is really lovely, just something small and tastefull and it will be a lovely tribute and reminder. maybe go into a tatto place and have a chat to someone, see of they can come up with an idea that you like and then it will be unique too. x

Not sure if this is the kind of paw print you were thinking of, but I made this (sort of) hammy paw print for one of my signatures - I just modified an existing paw print shape that is in photoshop.

ahh yes leeds girl, like taht and i want the little pads on it too, really realistic :) was funny, i bought a stool and had the hammies on it then dan said look! tilted in the light and was covered in little marks ^_^

aww yeh like that ^_^ oooh im so excited, not heard from my nurse yet though, i know the drug im on lowers my immune so think the risk is of infection and healing so might have to go a little bigger to avoid the design bleeding :s :)
