i like the ideas :)

few suggestions-

Id mesh the tops of the sleeping compartment and the bin, they can get stuffy

also not sure if it was from cleaning out but id add bedding and substrate but this may be you just showing the bin :)

If I recall there is no substrate because it is the height of summer in Hong Kong.

Although, would the hamsters still not enjoy burrowing/digging?

Looks good though.

I can't see bedding making the hamster any hotter? If anything I think they dig too keep cool?

They look great though, nice work. :D

Thanks.
Tubs? Do you mean the small boxes or the tubes?

There are some small holes on the boxes. So I don't worry about getting stuffy.

For the bedding, it is hot in HK now.So I didn't give many to him.

this looks great!

THANKS:D

THANKS FOR YOUR EXPLANATION.
LB loves put all the paper in his blue house and none in other places.

I also think that they like digging. But it is very hot and wet in HK right now. It is not suitable to give many bedding.

If its hot and wet in summer do you have trouble with the ventilation? I know that with mine if anything I had to add more ventilation in just to make sure it was comfortable in a relatively rubbish and cold British summer.

YES,ventilation is important, esp in this damned weather.
Therefore, I open the fan/air conditioner everyday to keep the temp to be comfortable.

Have you tried giving him a ceramic mug or a plate to cool down on?
That way you can give him bedding but he can still be cool x

During hot summers in Tokyo I used to give Geraldo the Gerbil a ceramic bowl to sleep in and it's something I've continued to do here as well. XD So Izu has a bowl to sleep in and so does Tobi.

Yeah the rats overheat like mad so I have two ceramic tiles that go in the fridge on hot days and then the boys lay out on them. They sold similar things at PAH but a pack of cheap tiles was much better value.

I would still put substarte on the floor, it can be cool for them and some tissue bedding that is softer rather than nothing at all and on plain plastic.

In the desert they burrow in sand to keep cool, i think having an empty bin is a bit extreme x

He has a house that made by ceramic Also,I give him a aluminum board and a marble. But he don't like sleep on the aluminum board or a marble.
Hence,I can only switch on the fan or air con everyday....

I give about 4 pieces paper towels and shred it to him. But he likes putting all the bedding in the ceramic house, none on floor of the plastic bin :-k

you wouldn't use paper for the floor, not sure what you ahve available but things like sawdust, carefresh, auboise, megazorb are all floor coverings :)

I don't think you understand. :D

See, substrate is used to cover the floor of the cage and tissue is provided to sleep on.

I get your idea.:)
But the vet said carefresh, wood bedding have many dust, she suggests me to paper towel.
I put paper on the floor,LB wil put all the paper in his house immediately. He don't like the bedding in the floor. So,I have no idea what can I do.

He puts the bedding in his house because he wants to make a nest with it. Its what all mine do when they see toilet paper, even the rats and they just pee on it. The carefresh is dust extracted so its not to bad dust wise. You're going to get a little dust with any type of bedding you use I mean even megazorb has a little dustyness to it. Carefresh has never seemed that dusty to me and none of mine have ever suffered any ill effects from it either.
