Stupid people I got hammies off..

Have been giving hamster's to children without an adult present. My daughter saw a sign in their window saying dwarf hammies free and asked me if we could get some, i said let me find out a bit about them first so i did a bit of research over night and said yes bought a bin cage (tho i have a imac fantasy spare in case of fights) went to get them and found that i knew of the grandad of the family (hes been banned from the school) we got two hammies same sex same litter (so i was told cant be sure now) but at the moment still they snuggle at night. The next day 5 of my daughter's friend's have got them being told thay can keep several don't need to be same litter and can keep them in small cage's (3 in a mini duna) they also gave one to a child and her mum don't know (or didn't:)) can you get a white and brown from the same litter? and is that bad if you do? I think they are girl's

I would reccomend that you inform the RSPCA, there is an age limit on being able to buy pets (I think its 16, but it might be 18 ), and tell them what has been going on and ask them to investigate, this certainly isnt very good practice.

You can get different colours from the same litter, yes, but its not bad no.

Please report them! I am sure the minimum age is 16, though most places do have it higher...

I think by law its 16 but each shop is entitled to set its own rules as long as it is above 16.

PAH is 18 because its a big company, most local pet stores will let you buy small animals at the age of 16 well mine does anyway lol

It's 16 now?? It used to be 12, learned it in sociology :p But yes, Pets at Home is 18. Had to go with my friend's boyfriend last time to get my robo girls because he's 19 and we're 17..

I got hamsters younger then 16 without my parents with me this is, of course, years ago, I am happy they challenge you to be over 18 now, or 16 in some shops.
