I came home to find Aiden dead after a short life. I'd rather not disclose how he had died to not upset other members, but in no way was it because of his health or bad ownership. He may have lived a short life, but at least I know that I gave him the best quality life I could.

Aiden was a Winter White Hybrid and was about 3 to 4 months old. He loved to spend time with his dear mommy and snatch sunflower seeds from his mommy's hands. He was spoiled little one. Every night I would wake up just to see him and hold him. In the past month we have bonded very well. He would come on my hand when I placed it in the cage and always stay with me when I took him out. I've only had him to 3 months and 5 days, but he will always be in my heart. He was like my baby, my pride and joy. In the CHA Hamster Show exactly one month ago, he won Best Pet. And I believe that title best suited him because he was the best pet I have ever had. He was absolutely the sweetest creature I've come upon. Nothing can replace him. I loved him dearly.

Man I really don't know how I can stop stressing. Everything in my life just seems to be getting worse and worse. I must stop crying because I have been constantly screaming, yelling, and banging the walls while my mom has a client over.

Please give good vibes and R.I.P. Aiden. I loved you as much as family.

Please also vote Aiden for HOTM because I know it would mean so much to him and me.

Here are some photos for his memorial:

I am so sorry to hear this :( He seems to have done a lot and made you very happy in his short time, and in return, I reckons he had a fab life.

And a small piece of advice for you - I have had depression for 10+yrs, sometimes very severe - this is hard to remember sometimes, but very, very true. No matter how bad things seem, they WILL always get better. I promise. Be strong and hang in there. x

Oh dear, that's a shock :( I'm so sorry for your loss =/ I hope it's not related to your sister. Either way, I am 500% sure you tried your best with the little guy and gave him everything he wanted and more. Little Aiden's pad even inspired my Lucy to make a move :) It was a pleasure to know you, Captain Aiden.

Thank you so much everyone. Like other members, I have buried him in a pot of wildflowers that live through all the seasons symbolizing how he continues to live on in my heart.

I'm so sorry. It's hard losing a ham, especially after you'd just started to bond. Make sure you do talk to someone about what happened though as bottling things up is never a good way to deal with things. *hugs*

I am so sorry to hear this :(
I am sure it was not down to bad ownership, he had a great life with you and sometimes there is something wrong inside a hamster that we can do nothing about.
RIP Aiden, and I hope you are ok x

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Some little hams only shine brightly for a short time and then they fly to the bridge.
He will be much missed. Play well Aiden xx

Thanks everyone. If he was older and I knew he was going to kick the bucket soon, I wouldn't be as sad. But the way he died and how it came so unexpected, I can't stand it really. I'm very traumatized and it's hard to deal with it. I always thought he'd at least be there for a little over a year, but my expectations always seem to be false nowadays.

I miss him terribly. All I really wanted was to do was at least hold him at his time of decease. I hate the circle of life at times. :(

It's horrible when pets die young and unexpectedly, I really hope you're doing okay. We're all here to talk if you need it, it helped me alot to talk to people about Snickers' and Buddy's passing. xxx

Thank you very much Snickers and everyone. With all these final exams, ap exams, and bringing up my grades, his death didn't help me much in calming me down or relieving the stress. Thank goodness my tears have gone to a minimum over the past few days.

Tomorrow will be a month from Aiden's death. I really miss him. Although I've been super distracted by school work and finals lately, all the turmoil this week reminds me of how if Aiden was here I'd feel so much better. Oliver is a great hamster too, but Aiden was my first. :( I miss his chubby little self laying on my hand for me to give him a scratch. His flower pot is doing really well. Since I got it a month ago, so many new stems and flowers have been showing up. Whenever I miss him, I just go out to my backyard and hold the pot in my arms.... :(
