Some photos I took of Chunky yesterday. He is 7 weeks old now and his coat is growing rapidly.

Cuddles with mum, he hopes to grow into those ears!

Just so the others don't feel left out:
Berry wants out of the playpen:

They are all adorable, Basia. It looks like Chunky is going to have a fantastic long coat - he's gorgeous and I love the "big ears" pic 8)

They are all stunning! I love Chunky's skirt and he has such a cheeky little face!

Berry, Fuzzy and Basil are beautiful too but I especially love the colour of Sid - he's lovely!

I think we both have a soft spot for greys

Thanks everyone for your comments - I love them all to bits.

Lovely hamsters! I love long haired boys... Fudge is getting old now though and doesn't really enjoy the wheel as much. He's moved onto bar chewing. All very pretty ham hams!

Thanks everyone. I must post an updated photo of Berry as she is becoming huge and weighs like a brick... She is now as tame as Chunky although it has taken a bit longer with her and I love her to bits. I have moved her into the Gabber Rex because it is the biggest cage and if I do decide to let her have babies I think it will be the best baby cage. Also she had developed a serious bar chewing habit, taking the paint off the bars and rubbing her face. Sid is now in the 24" Trixie and is happily climbing again. Chunky has just had a brand new Cambridge and Basil now has the extension back on his Imac. So we have been having a bit of a change around here - mainly to accommodate Berry. :)
I have used my newly acquired taming skills to work really hard with Basil, Sid and Fuzzy my petshop hammies. Sid is almost as tame as the 'breeder' hams but Basil and Fuzzy are still a bit nervous. Will they always be do you think? Is it because they just weren't handled before I got them when they were very little? Chunky and Berry have never had any fear (or Sid but I put that down to him being grey). Sorry I've gone on a bit!!

They all sound wonderful, Basia :)

Thank goodness for the Rex! It seems there are an awful lot of hamsters out there that do this and, in a standard bar cage, you haven't got a hope of heading them off. Moxy now has to have weighted DVD cases placed in strategic places over parts of the roof to stop him chewing the roof. At least you can do that with a Rex - I must find some tiles though as these will be far less unsightly.
