Hi,

I've just joined, my name is Ellie, and I live in the UK. Soon I might be getting two hamsters, I'd call them Bubbles and Squeak. Ummm... that's about it

Welcome Ellie, glad to have you with us! I'm sure you will learn to love this community just as much as everyone else! Have you done your research, do you know what kind of hamsters you want to get?

Hi Ellie and welcome from me as well :)

This site is very informative - have you spotted the articles on hamster care etc yet? I wish I'd seen them before we got our first hams as they would have helped a lot.

I have seen that section, but today I went to the library and got 12 books out on Hammys! The librarian was a bit annoyed, it took her ages to 'scan' them all!
I'll probably be getting two Dwarf hamsters, or a Syrian, only one, because they fight... I'm sure you knew that ^^.
Thanks for such a warm welcome! :D

Welcome to HC :-). Hamsters are the cutest furries with lots of personality and a great inquisitive nature. Hope you enjoy doing your research and that you are able to decide which type of hamster to get. Have fun :)

Welcome to the forum and looking forward to meeting your new pets. Where are you in the UK if you are in the UK. Maybe we could find you a breeder with some nice tame babies when you are ready

You need to make yourself a hamster central profile. Click on "my hamster central" to do so.. then once you have a profile click on "Change my account settings" you can upload your own, or you can choose one from our gallery by scrolling down and clicking on "show gallery" from there select one you like :)

I decided last night, I'm going to get a Syrian hamster!
They are more active,
Big and fluffy!
Clim up tubes vertically, and whole bunch of stuff I read in a book 8)

A late welcome from me! :) But glad you've decided on a syrian!! That is what I have...Sakana is very laid back and was very tame from the beginning. I was never nipped by him...but have been by dwarf hamsters!! Though I have decided that my next hamster will be a dwarf of some sort....

Good luck on finding a hamster buddy!!
