My name is Lindsi.... I was going to wait until I got my hammy to introduce myself, but I'd hate to be deleted as a spammer, hehe, so I figured I'd better go ahead and post. I'll be getting my dwarf hamster in about...2 weeks now. I'm having to prove my responsibility and such to the parents, hehe. I'm hoping to be able to find a pearl winter white, but since I don't know if I'll be able to find one, we'll just see!

I have 3 cats, 2 dogs, a chinchilla, and 7 horses. My house is a bit like a zoo. =P Soo... I suppose that's all. :)

Hi!

Yes, it's actually compulsory for new people to show us their pets

Which type of dwarf hammy are you getting?

you have some gorgeous pets, I hope you find a Pearl Winter white - have you been in touch with any hamster breeders/clubs?

Thanks all! No, I haven't contacted any breeders/clubs, but I've never seen any in this area. =/

I have seen winter whites at my local pet store, but I'm not sure if they were truly winter whites or not. It didn't help that they were curled up in a huddle in their house. xD Guess I'll find out this summer, lol.

Hi and welcome from me ... you really do have some absolutely gorgeous pets :)

We just got two Winter Whites a week ago (we already have 3 Syrians) who come from a breeder in the north of England. If you are in the UK (perhaps not, but worth a try!) I'd suggest her - our two are beautiful and incredibly tame already - she travels to various shows.

Here's Sparrow (the Pearl):

Just a thought, but have you considered a rescue dwarf hammy? I also post on the Fancy Rats forum and one of the girls on there runs a rescue and they have several dwarfies needing homes... a lot of people overlook them and they are looking for a loving forever home. My Frankie came from there and he is the sweetest-natured little gentleman...

Don't know if you need to be a member to read, but here is the relevant thread (http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/community/viewtopic.php?t=62393)

=DD Your hamsters are beautiful! I would definitely consider a rescue dwarf, but I don't think there are any rescues around here. I'm in Oklahoma and around here the attitude is generally "Ewww, a rodent?! Why would you want that in your HOUSE?" It was hard enough finding a chinchilla breeder, hehe. So I think I'll just have to scour the petshops for a nice, healthy looking little one.

If anybody knows of any hamster breeders in my area I'd be really grateful for contact information. :D
