I thought they were a lot smaller too . Thats a good price for the size of it.

Whats the measurement of the blue plastic bit at the bottom, how deep is it?.

Thanks xxx

I always thought it was tiny too. Won it on ebay this morning and Mum picked it up while I was at school. The lady runs a rescue so only kept the piggies in it for a few weeks while they were small. :)

The base is 4-5 inches deep. It thins out in the middle at 4 inches and the edges are 5 inches deep. :D

This now means I have a spare Hamster Heaven.

I've never had a spare cage before. I see why you guys find it so hard to keep them empty though!

What are the measurements of the Gabber, John? It'd be nice to compare as I was going to get the Gabber Rex but this was cheaper for me. :)

Oh, not much difference then, thank you. :)

Hmm... I think 5 hamsters is quite a nice number - one more couldn't hurt. ;) hehe

Ditto; I was really pleasantly surprised by the measurements! Will have to keep that in mind if Dumpling's ZZ1 gets a hole eaten through it.

Being one level though it is a bit small for a Syrian but with Snickers' mobility slowing down I'd say she's okay in it. It'd be perfect for a little dwarf though! :D

This was one of the cheapest I found. :)

There is no water bottle hole but the previous owner used the small hole in the pink stoppers to push through the wire to attach a bottle. It's hard to explain but I don't have a pic. As you can see, I've used a cube toy bought from P@H to secure the bottle. :D

Can you fit the 20cm Karlie Wonderland wheel in this cage?
Thinking of getting as it looks really nice cage.

I don't have a Karlie Wheel so I can't test that for you I'm afraid. Maybe if Gizmodo sees this he will try for you, I think he has both the wheel and the cage.

I'll be keeping my eye out ebay but if not the Imac bingo looks like my best option.

I already have a spare ZZ2 but my sister stole it for the gerbils playpen:roll: (when she goes to uni I will be re-claiming it )
But I don't think little Treo wouldn't use that amount of space anyway!

Is this cage ok for a Syrian?

SnickersTheFirst
06-29-2011, 10:01 AM
It's not really big enough, I only had Snickers in there for a few months before she passed as Cushings restricted her movement and she was a tiny Syrian.

For a big, active Syrian it's not really big enough imo. :)

you say it has two holes for adding extensions? Are these on the roof then? I'm not seeing them haha. I can't find any Imac tubes or accessories to add to the bingo online though? Mystery holes..

SnickersTheFirst
06-29-2011, 11:53 PM
I don't have any pics of the lid atm but yes, there's one on each back corner. I'll take a pic this afternoon if I get time. :)

I've only ever seen the extension tubes for sale once and I've never been able to find them again. :/

I love your ingenious wooden-cube bottle holder Snickers! Is that just a Classic water bottle fitted into the cube? It`s a great idea for having a bottle inside a tank style cage as many have holes that are too high for dwarf hamsters.

I`m a big fan of the Gabber Rex (just bought a dodgy one off ebay and set it up for my chinese hamster!) but removed the sliding grid in the lid and made my own `lift-off` barred lid for better access.

The Imac Bingo seems to be a really nice alternative for all dwarf hamsters given that only the Zoozones and the Duna Multi are the other alternatives, or second hand Gabbers that pop up from time to time. Good size and good access. I`m not keen on the basin-style base though that could have been squared off I feel, but otherwise, a nice enough habitat. Decent price too. ;)

Would you say this cage would be ok for 2 Robos or Russians?

And how strong is the plastic, is it likely to crack?

thanks

Thanks, I originally discovered it on The Gerbil Forum when I got my boys. :) Yup it's the classic bottle.

I'd say it's big enough for a pair. The plastic is quite strong, I'd say the same strength as my Mini Duna, looking at them both. :)
