I Received My Wings Today

I wrote this yesterday for Tish after reading that Skittles had passed. But thought I'd share here too. My writing is often more fluent after a sad event for some reason - eventually I may put them all in book.

I Received My Wings Today

I heard we all get wings they come at different times.
Some receive when they are young, others wait in line.
I felt mine were coming to me and was waiting for a sign.
I was asked what I wanted I knew it was my time.
So I asked if I could have them, those special wings of mine.
I heard her say; of course you can, I know it is your time.
And so she helped me into them, they really are divine.
I hope that you can see them, these gorgeous wings of mine.

very well done! I think you should try to make a collection of poems like these and send them of to few publishers. They might give you an idea about how to go on from here... I might pinch this one (only if you don't mind, thou) for a headstone when my Daisie passes - she is WW and well over 3 years old, although still full of beans :)
