View Full Version : Sen's Loving Her New Extension

Safe to say she's one happy bunny... er... hamster. :)

Here is the new set up:

I will be getting a shelf over the next few days to put in under where the tunnel comes out, so the cage will get rejigged then. She's also getting an 8inch wheel (quite glad too as it's a Wodent Wheel, as this Silent Spinner is quite rattle-y). :) And I'm probably going to add in two more tube out sections on the cage, and just put in a fun squiggly loop of tubes. :)

Also, she is settling in nicely with megazorb (still digging, so still snorting but I don't think it's quite as bad), was a bit wary at first, and naturally tried eating it hehe. Thank you KatiePillow for suggesting it (the bag is so big I have to store it in the spare bedroom!!).

Sen's first exploration:

"Hey this new cage is pretty fun, it has food at the bottom of the ladder!!"

"oooo, new toy!"

"And I came in here?"

"Wheeeee!!! The wheel being in here is MUCH more fun!!! ^_^ "

And this is a closeup of the extension for those who wish to see it (and a happy Sen, still running).

She is getting faster at coming down the tubes too, I was worried they'd be too tight. But because of this it means she tends to fling herself down the ladder skimming off it slightly rather than climbing down it. This will be better when there is a shelf there instead. :)

Her set-up looks great :) I'm glad she's enjoying it.

That looks so great :) I'm sure she loves it.
She's a spoilt little girl, with lots of toys isn't she!
She's so cute, tempting me towards syrians actually ;p

She's very spoilt, although I still don't think she has enough! Haha.

Aw, that's nice :) Sen's my firsts Syrian, and I'm loving it. Feels more like having a pet, than a dwarf (not that I didn't love how cute my dwarves were), just such a big personality!

I'd always feel so guilty cage-size wise with a syrian, as my dwarf has a 110x50 cage, and I'd want to give a syrian more than I give my dwarf..but can't have a cage bigger than that O.o
I'd be worried that they'd want too much attention too, sometimes I just need some rest, and my hammies don't mind. I hold them every day..but not for ages (although I do take them out more than once each D: ))(they don't really like it that much, I need to get a play pen >.<)

Yeh, Sen is MUCH happier with a big cage. Not chewing the bars so much, and therefore not asking for as much attention as she's able to please herself - climbing the bars, running through the tubes, climbing the bars, running in her wheel, and climbing the bars... hehe. I added more tubes:

She sometimes gets stuck in an infinite loop in there... haha. It's great! :D She went round it backwards at one point too... Heh.

If my extension had a side door instead of a roof door, I'd be tempted to add a bin cage on top too or something... I could just keep building her home bigger and bigger. At least I know if I get two dwarves in the future there will be enough space from them both... although I dunno if it's fully suitable for them (but I don't need to worry about that just now).
