I thought that you might enjoy making some cookie treats for your hamster. This is the simplest of my recipes to make and is suitable for all species of hamsters.

Make sure your parent or guardian is at home to help you make these cookies.

You can find the multigrain flour at a health store OR you may use 100% Whole Wheat flour.

Hamster Cookies

1/2 cup (125 ml) of multigrain flour
1 Tablespoon (15 ml) of cod liver oil (or olive oil)
1/4 cup (60 ml) of water

Preheat the oven to 350 degress Farenheit or 177 degrees Celsius.

Measure flour into a mixing bowl. Add oil and water. Stir together and then form a dough ball with your hands.

Form the dough with your hands into cookies about the size and shape of jelly beans. Place the cookies on a cookie sheet and bake them in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes.

Let the cookies cool in the pan completely.

Store the cookies in an air tight container in the freezer.

Let the cookie thaw for a few minutes before you give it to your hamster.

You can give your hamster one cookie every day if you like, BUT do not give him so many that he will store them. They can go moldy when not frozen.

Enjoy! You can eat them too, if you dare!

I have lots of other Hamster Cookie recipes if anyone would like more, let me know.

Thats really great Christine! thanks for sharing this, I might just try this! is there anything else that would be suitable to add, something that might give it more flavor? That is if hammies care about flavor? :? And yes I would love to see all the recipes you have come up with! Just post them here!

These are on the cards when we have our next "mother and son" baking session which is likely to be during the Easter holidays so will post up a pic of our efforts after the event

Sounds like there are going to be some very spoiled hammies in the next little while!

Don't forget about the Carrot Raisin Cookie Recipe for Syrians and the recipe for Campbell Dwarf Cookies! They are much tastier but have a few more ingredients.
