I'm thinking about making a few bits and bobs for my new hamster (getting her in 8 days!!) using wooden dowels, lolly sticks and string and that but I have a few questions.

What wood is suitable?
What glue (for a hot glue gun) is hamster safe?
Do I need to treat the wood (to stop rotting from pee) and if so, what should I use?
What string would be suitable? I assume some sort of untreated hemp?

Thanks in advance!

Hey,
I'm not sure about wood or string (not a massive D.I.Y person ;)) but i know you can get non toxic glue sticks for glue guns which are fine to use :)

You will need to treat the wood if you want it to last, plasticote is the best thing to use.

hey

I'm doing the same, non toxic glue sticks for the glue gun are fine, treating the wood could be best if it will be peed on, and would be best to spray it with plastikote after it's built and yeah hemp string is best :)
