Goodbye my little Dusty

Dusty passed away in his sleep last night :( he had a large growth in his stomach and was struggling with his little life towards the end. He is at peace now and no longer suffering.
Dusty could barely move towards the end, and so I handfed him raisins, bran flakes and broccoli last night as a treat - I somehow knew it was his last night and so I spent a long time just stroking him as he lay in his bed. He curled into a little ball and enjoyed his last stroke.
Dusty was my first pet, not a family pet, MY own first pet. That was over 2 and a half years ago now that I got him. He's lived a long (and hopefully!) happy life. I shall miss him so much, I shall miss the way he always came out when food was around, I shall miss the way he loved to be held, but hated his ball, and I shall miss the way he always, always bought a smile to my face when I saw him.

Rest in peace now little Dusty. We will meet again one day. I'll never forget you...

He was one handsome little man. I know a little about how you're feeling. My little boy Nibbler died last night. We'd only had him 5 months, so you must be feeling so much worse. I'm glad Dusty got lots of love on his last night on this earth. RIP little fella..
