Default Reporting threads

Hi mods!

I help administrate a large forum but it's based off php (I can't remember the correct term) and the coding is different than this one. I know when a report is sent to us from a thread, the user has the option to receive email notification when it's dealt with.

I was wondering how we know if a report has been dealt with here (I've seen a few get edits, etc.)? If it wasn't report worthy (I get those on my site where user A reports user B but they didn't do anything wrong, just disagreed with their opinion) do you PM us and tell us it's fine?

I'm just wondering. Also can a thread/post/PM only be reported once by one individual? It's that way on the board I mod (so kids don't spam us with reports about the same issue) but I wasn't sure if the same thing applied here.

Sorry for the questions! I just want to help keep the boards clean, and I know peer moderation (through reporting) helps a whole lot on the site I work for since the mod team can't logistically see every post or thread made (300k+ members, phew!)

Anyone can report a post and a post can receive multiple reports. A mod will where required amend/edit a reported post and where necessary discuss with the writer of the reported post. Each is dealt with on its own merits. Mods don't usually respond to the post reporter due to time constraints. Hope that answers your questions.

Yes that does. I know about not having enough time I just wanted to make sure I wasn't bugging anyone, etc.

Teddy, it's not for hamsters, it's an adoptable pet site.

Thanks Nibblet, I honestly couldn't remember, but I was pretty sure that was it. I used to code a way long time ago with HTML, java and CSS, but never delved into anything with PHP.
