Rotten feet?!?!?!
I went to PetSmart 1 week ago and purchased 2 Long Haired Syrian Hamsters. (All my hamsters are always kept in separate cages)
Turbo (Syrian 1) died from Wet Tail 4 days after being purchased.
I then got a Winter White Dwarf Hamster.
After Turbo died, Fire-Ball (Syrian 2) started having seizures then over night his feet turned black and hard and all his toes fell off.
Fire-Ball is now at the vet but they can’t figure out what is wrong.
Today, Turbo 2.0 (Dwarf) suddenly died. There was nothing obviously wrong. He was acting like a normal hamster until his little heart just stopped.
I did Put Turbo 2.0 (Dwarf) in the previous Turbo’s (Syrian 1) cage. THE CAGE WAS THOROUGHLY CLEANED FIRST BECAUSE OF HOW CONTAGIOUS WET TAIL IS.
I do NOT handle my hamsters until I have had them for 2 weeks. I just talk to them while being next to the cage so they can adjust, so I have not even been able to really hold my recent hamsters.
I have Had many hamsters before and none of this has ever happened!!
Does anyone know why my hamsters feet turned black and he lost his toes?!?!
