Thanks Souffle, I have started to help him out with brushing now, I do remember the rescue telling me I might need to do that when he was older.
I now see why a friend of mine had a problem with getting bedding that didn't get taffled in her long haired hamster. All 3 types I use seems to be getting in his fur now.
