Default Re: Whimzees and walnuts

We never really know how much they actually eat.

Hamsters often carry their treasures off to a safe place. Now and again i do a spot check/clean when they're not in their cage and come across the whimzee that i thought had been eaten and other treats, stashed away.

Same with nuts. Henry used to love cracking monkey nuts open then took the nut to his house and stripped the brown skin off but ate very little of the nut. He chucked the nut in his bin ( he was a very tidy hamster) probably because he wanted another one to crack open.

I crack a walnut open and leave about a quarter in one half of the shell and hide it in a homemade hanging toy made from cardboard and jute string because hamsters love to sniff out and find food.
