I also recently got my first vocal hamster, and it was a bit confusing to me too - but I think it's more of a personality thing. Cocoa was somewhat noisy when I first got her, she squeaked whenever she got scared of something. I would say pay attention to when your hammy makes noises to see if it might be a problem! Cocoa had UTI at one point and she did squeak painfully then - I couldn't see her as she was in her house, but later noticed her bloody urine, which made me realise what that noise was about.
But if there's nothing wrong behaviourally or visibly, I don't think there's a reason to worry. Cocoa clicks at me when she's annoyed, and squeaks when something spooks her. She used to be even more vocal but she seemed to grow that out within the first couple of months.
