He could still be settling in and may just be more of a vocal hammy. The trip to the vets may have set him off again until he feels settled again or like you said he could just be happy with his food. If it was me I would just be monitoring the noises, maybe just check his teeth if you can. I've had a couple of hamsters that have been more vocal at times and some that never squeak or chunter at all. Each hamster is different.
