Hi there! I'm Katie, I live in San Diego. I'm a brand new hammie owner as of today! I was thinking about a hamster for awhile, doing a lot of research, was even on the waitlist for a couple of different ethical breeders in Orange County.
But then I saw a Facebook post for the small animal rescue here called Wee Companions for this baby dwarf hamster. They rescued his mom and of course she was pregnant, so she gave birth to him and his siblings - get this - on my birthday! It felt like it was meant to be. So as of today, he's mine.
This is Theo.
He lives in a 40gal breeder tank and has been quite happily burrowing, making his own tunnels, and sleeping a lot since he got here. I am upgrading his wheel - the one in there now is a 6.5 inch which is okay for his size now, but I have an 11-inch on the way that he can grow into.
