I also have a Robo and it took him four months to trust me enough to sit on my hand to eat some linseeds. I stroked him a couple of times briefly in the early morning while he was sitting on a log and was probably tired so more relaxed.
I am delighted that i even got that far with him but that is it now. I do not push or scare him in any way because i appreciate him for the hamster he is and want him to have a happy hamster life. In the end its about what he wants and not me. Robos are very shy and timid hamsters by nature so don't feel frustrated.
