Dwarf not keen on sand
Unlike my other two dwarves, my hybrid Edwina who is around 4 months old, doesn't seem that excited about sand which is so undwarflike.
I never see her play or roll in it, not in her habitat or the playpen box.
She had a large sandbox she didn't bathe in which i took out when i put her wheel with the big, solid base in which takes up more space. The previous wheel, a silent spinner she kept knocking over. Then the sand was in a corner container but she didn't bathe in it either. Now i'm trying an enclosed terracotta salt dish to see if she prefers that.
I'm wondering if i should ask my partner to make a container big enough for the whole width of her bin cage and the depth of her house, fill it with sand and put the wheel in it and the salt dish, stone, flower pot etc. I just can't figure out why she doesn't bathe in the sand like dwarves usually do and what type of sand bath she prefers.
She seems happy, runs around very fast and likes to climb when out of her cage.
Henry used to dig in his sand when he was a baby but then lost interest and now only pees in it but he's a Syrian.
Does anyone else have a dwarf who is not mad about sand?
