2-2.5 months old is too young to be breeding from a female hamster (although she probably CAN get pregnant at this age, but it wouldn’t be good for her). Just because they are male and female doesn’t mean they won’t fight. Two boys are worse, but the female could attack the male when she is older. Especially since they are not siblings, they may not continue to live peacefully.

The main concern is that they might breed and that would be disastrous, especially at the female’s age. You should separate them immediately.

The female is from a pet shop so you shouldn’t breed her. From what you say, the male is not from an experienced breeder of hamsters so you probably shouldn’t breed from him either. You should know the pedigree of any hamster you breed from.
