Monty has always been a gentle sort of soul, whenever we get her out she does tend to not sit still though, so that evening I let her run and run and run (up my arm, along the couch etc) until she was quite tired out and then when she showed signs of getting a bit tired I placed her on my chest and gently began scratching her neck with my thumb and forefinger.
To my surprise she stayed there and started drifting off to sleep! She stayed like that for a good ten minutes!
I subsequently did the same thing with her last night and she snuggled right up.
