Our robo developed lumps. I assumed it was a tumour of some kind. He lived quite happily with them for a long time. It is worth a vet visit in case it is an abscess or infection - to rule that out. Our robo was also 18 months old when he developed his lumps. I would have had it removed under surgery, but he had quite a few and it was too big an area of his body. If he just has the one lump, and you have a good vet (exotic vets know more about hamster conditions and surgery) it would be worth seeing if the vet thinks it is operable. If removed he may be fine. They can also find out if it's cancerous or benign that way.
