Default Shy Syrian Hamster

Hello! I am glad that I joined a community where people can talk about their pets and learn from others as well.

I decided after almost 9 years to get another Syrian hamster. I don't remember much about their behaviour so I would need some advice. I had Nesquik for about 2 and a half days and he is 6-7 week old male Syrian hamster. I tried to interact with him. At the moment he is not doing well when I try to hold him, but he does not mind if I hand feed him or if I move my hand slowly in his cage while eating. I want to start bonding more with him but he is sleeping all the time and wakes up only late at night and by the time I am awake at half 7 he is asleep. I know they are nocturnal that is why I am trying not to wake him up. I just occasionally give him a fruit or a vegetable to snack just to let him know that I want to be his friend. I feel like he is very shy and that I should give him more time to settle.

Would someone give me any advice about what to do next so I can build a more solid bond with him. Really appreciated. Thank you.

I have attached a picture of his cage. He is currently in his house under the bridge sleeping.
