No better news on Maestro’s drinking I am sad to say. He has been on the medicine for Cushings but there has been no improvement at all. The dose was doubled to 2 drops after 2 weeks. I rang the vet yesterday to report on his condition. His weight is still falling and is now 175 approx from a maximum of 198 a year ago.
The decision is to switch him to the medicine for the rarer hormone condition the vet mentioned which is the alternative to the excessive cortisol which is now ruled out. I have to wait a couple of days for this medicine to be ordered in. This is the last treatable condition if there is an underlying physical cause.
Otherwise he is well enough if a little thinner. His pee area is much wetter as his kidneys are working overtime. I hope he is getting enough nourishment. Just worried about him.
