Hybrids who have the winter white gene 'strongly' shall we say will change to winter coat. Campbells don't change colour. Have you noticed him change at all since you got him? Sometimes they don't do a full change. You do get Campbells with a mottled colouring but he doesn't look mottled to me.

That's so interesting I love learning new things about hamsters! I've only had him a couple days and I've been mostly letting him settle into his new.home so I haven't paid too much attention to his colorings but I will definitely keep an eye out
