I've never seen a real life Chinese Hamster. Are they as small as a dwarf hamster or more Syrian sized? It's hard to tell from photos.

They're more dwarf sized but are longer in the body than Campbells, Winter Whites and Roborovskis. As adults they usually range in length from 8-10cm (Females) and 10-14cm (Males) and usually weigh between 30-50g.
I'd never seen or heard of Chinese until I went to the pet shop once to buy some Russians and saw two little Chinese boys. I fell in love with them instantly and knew then that they'd have to come home with me. I've been keeping Chinese Hamsters ever since and at one point that was the only species I kept. I now also have four Campbells, one Winter White and two Roborovskis.
