Default Re: Great and small dwarf hamster food

It sounds like an extremely low quality complementary food at that!

In the UK you're blessed with the ability to get Rodipet food, which is by no means cheap. However, cheapness isn't really something to look for when it comes to pet food in general. Quality, safety, ingredient transparency, and biological appropriateness are, and Rodipet's hamster foods definitely have those things!

That dwarf hamster food in particular is organic. The ingredients are fully and properly named, no "meat derived" this or "coloured" that or random "hamster pellets". They have the proper nutrient levels with the Rodipet junior dwarf food, and you could boost the protein even further by adding one of the Rodipet insects(they carry crickets, grasshoppers, or mealworms) or high quality freeze dried chicken if you consider the 16.9% protein too low(for example for younger hamsters who need the extra protein).
