Unhappy Single Roborovski - Aberdeen

Location: Aberdeen

Kind of hamster(s):Roborovski Dwarf

Hamster age(s):18-24 months based on vet estimate

Reason they were abandoned /require rehoming? I originally got Bertie as a rescue myself and I don't know why he was put up for rehoming but I suspect his previous owners didn't do much with him. I recently found out I am moving to Australia and it is illegal to take hamsters into the country so I need to find Bertie a new home before I leave.

Any health problems/special needs? He has a benign fatty lump on his neck which will need to be monitored.

Any behavioral problems? I am almost certain Bertie was never handled by my predecessors and they put him up for adoption when he was around 18 months old. He hates being handled but I have managed to get him to take food out my hand which is definite progress.

Type of household hamster would best be suited to: (example, family with kids, no kids, no other pets and so on) As Bertie has not been handled I don't think he would be suitable for children. Someone with experience of Robos would probably be best.
