Default Re: Good cage for a winter white dwarf hamster?

Congratulations on your hammie! Do you know the dimensions of his current cage?

The Alaska is a wonderful choice - it's the one I have for my Syrian and I haven't had any problems with it. I don't actually know of many cages without side doors - all of the ones I would probably recommend (Alaska, Barney, Alexander) have them.
I think a tank / aquarium could be a good option and you can get them pretty cheap second-hand. Of course, you could always go for a store-bought one (Savic Plaza, Hamster Heaven 80, Maxi Duna Multy (no side door)) but they tend to be more expensive.

I've also heard good reviews of the Zoozone 2, which is spacious and has a door at the top, but you'd need to cover it with wire mesh because the bar gaps are too wide for most hamsters.

Hopefully someone else has some good recommendations!
