To give them the choice and to ensure there's always
water available even if a bottle should become faulty. I think my dwarf prefers the bowl which is a miniture, one portion jam jar and the perfect size for him.
My syrian's bowl is metal and attached to the bars (the bowl lifts out). I've seen him climbing over it without getting his paws wet! Last time i saw him drink was from the bottle.
