You could try the cardboard that Emmy suggested. Also, maybe you can give Roly a sterilised pebble, as many hamsters use that to file their nails and teeth, but given how picky Roly is, I'm not sure he'd go for that. Do you have safe (no pesticide) natural fruit tree branches that you could bake and offer to Roly? I've recently read that hamsters like fruit tree branches.

I'm really sorry about Roly's injury and I'm not sure if wooden wheels can cause injury. Do check it carefully for splinters, but if it is smooth, you might want to consider if the blood is coming from elsewhere, such as other wounds or even discharge (internal bleeding). Perhaps you'd want to keep a closer eye on him and if in doubt, take him to a vet.
