Lettuce is known to cause stomach upsets if too much is given plus it has very little nutrients in as it mainly water. So I personally wouldn’t give lettuce to my hamsters. Pepper on the other hand are safe but only in small amount occasionally.

Instead I would advise to stick with veg like carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, cabbage - as these are usually the veg I feed my hamsters not only are they their favourites but they also have a high fibre content which should help to keep poos firm.
