First of all, you are an amazing person for doing all of that. Maybe the feeders got upset at you for being a "crazy cat lady" but I think they just don't understand that these are lives we are talking about, sentient beings with independent thoughts and emotions and feelings.

As Serendipity mentioned, would it be possible to work towards re-homing them during your 4 years there? Maybe just keep an eye out for new owners from Day 1, you have 4 years to find someone. I'm not sure how hard it is to re-home cats in Saudi.
