That is a great idea but I must warn you from my own experience that a hammy will always try to explore/escape so will chew any door frame along its bottom edge or any crevices or corners. Carpets and soft furnishings, including low hanging curtains are all fair game to a lively hamster following his/her instincts. I've learnt all this to my cost but with a little forethought and innovation it is all worth it to be able to see your little friends true character and instincts come alive. Good luck with your move and the creation of a new hammy habitat room! I only have Daisy*** who being female may be a bit more 'destructive' due to her nest building enjoyment. Aren't we always still learning?
