Schwartzie, you are VERY well informed and know fine that you HAVE to wait for the wheel because it is a hamster essential. In the meantime keep talking and sharing on this forum, you have waited so long now and you will cope with another couple of weeks. It will be worth the wait to get a complete set up the way you like it and then your hamster will decide how he or she likes it. You can go to the pet shop at different times to catch sight of the hamsters when they're eating and observe them to see which ones look healthy and which ones you feel drawn to.
