Hang in there! If it was me, I hate to say it but I would wait for the wheel, i know you are so excited and i would feel the same way as you but without the wheel I would be worried that my hamster got frustrated and started picking up bad habits like bar chewing which may then be harder to get them to stop if it has become a habit before the wheel turned up. Or is there a chance you can pick up a large enough plastic one before the wooden one arrives. You could always use the plastic wheel as a spare for if/when your hamster is out of it's cage
