She probably has one on the other side too. It could also be a healed old wound - maybe a little tiff when she was younger? Keep an eye on it though and just much sure it doesn't get larger or she starts biting at it or anything.

Thanks, I am pretty sure it is a scent gland as she does have a small dent in her fur on both sides.
When the gland was prominent and lumpy I think she may have been in heat especially the way she was behaving when I was stroking her, she was frozen to the spot, and her tail was arched up to the vertical, when I stopped stroking she took a full minute to become de-mesmerised..
Poppy is quite beautiful and as crazy as Forrest if not more, a Diva like Pip and at times a Jumpy wally like Ghost.
She has no fear, which worries me as she has thrown her self from the back of the sofa onto a side table, from the coffee table to the floor etc I just hope she doesn't hurt her self as she lands on her back, on her head, even faceplanted the carpet..! That is with me trying to stop her aswell..!
