Hamster Central - View Single Post - Female Syrian hamster with a thick skirt??

Hiya! I’m new to this forum, and hamster owning in general as I just got my first hamster today! She’s called Trixie and she’s a long haired Syrian, really sweet and seems to be settling in well — I just have one question/concern. The staff at the pet shop said she was a female, however because she’s young (only 8 weeks) they also did say that sometimes they can’t tell for sure because the males haven’t fully developed yet, so can often be mistaken for females. I’ve done some research on long haired Syrians and have found out that the male ones have a long, thick, fluffy skirt. Trixie seems to have this skirt however she’s supposedly a female... is this possible? I’ve tried to look and see if I can tell if she’s a boy by her genitals of course but can’t see any testicles or male genitalia of any kind.

I’ve attached some pictures so you can see, any help or answers would be greatly appreciated.
