Totally agree , so after thinking going back to the drawing board (still dont want to face making a lid!).
I came up with this variation. I used the original three shelves, and Tickis original cage lid. The three partitions are now much closer to prevent escapes, and the cage allows a lot more air to flow through. Plus it adds another level
Will be putting in a platform for her on that level plus a few other hanging bits, maybe a hammock...
I feel better about this now.
Do you think its an improvement on the original idea?

The cage sits snugly on the wire, but have tied it on as well ....
