Pet store disaster
So my mom went out to our local pet store to buy my younger siblings two dwarf hamsters. we got an IKEA detolf cage. when we purchased the hamsters we were told they were both boys but after about a week I realized one looked very lumpy as a pregnant female would. so now we have a pregnant hamster and a male hamster. I'm going to separate them tomorrow when I get off work, I'm going to buy him a 20-gallon cage.
in the detolf cage, I have one section that is about 8 inches of bedding and I want to know if I should remove most of the bedding so it isn't so deep? it's blocked off with a sheet of cardboard acting as a wall, keep in mind she also has many burrow spot in there and food stores
I'm just worried that the babies might get caught up down there and get injured or die
