I'd recommend just getting Higgins Vita Garden hamster and gerbil(not Sunburst, as this is very high in fruit which isn't ideal for any species even if not diabetes prone as it is not exactly a natural part of diets and is much better as a treat). The most you'd need to add to these would be Pure Bites freeze dried meat, and there are several meat options and even freeze dried shrimp Pure Bites to choose from.

Some pet stores still give 12% protein as the protein level for the Vita Garden food, however this is incorrect and the current version has a much more appropriate 15% which doesn't need much work to boost to a suitable level.
