Wow not seen hemp mat over bedding before. It certainly does look easier to get around - actually that’s one of the things that I wasn’t so keen on with fitch as for dwarfies as it often looked like they were hiking through rough terrain
Would say something like megazorb is soft and can provide a very even surface as the pieces are smaller but obviously the dust levels are higher so it isn’t for everyone. Or a larger sand area but not sure whether that would be abrasive over time.
The hoard is enormous lol. Chochos is just as large honestly it’s so easy to overfeed them!
The setup is looking nice anyway hope he is able to get around better.
